A café and hospitality space in Busan, South Korea, wanted to create a tropical outdoor environment that could improve the guest experience while reducing the maintenance challenges of natural plants.
For this project, Oakco provided 40 customized artificial palm trees for the outdoor leisure area. The largest trees reached 10 meters in height with a maximum canopy diameter of 6 meters. We worked closely with the project team from custom production and modular design to transportation and on-site installation support, creating a realistic tropical landscape suitable for a commercial hospitality space.
Challenge
Creating a Tropical Atmosphere for a Hospitality Space
The goal of this project was not simply to add greenery to the space. The client wanted to create a tropical atmosphere where visitors could feel surrounded by natural elements while enjoying the outdoor leisure area.
Creating this type of commercial landscape required careful planning. The 40 artificial palm trees needed to work together as one complete environment rather than appearing as separate products. Different tree heights, canopy sizes, and installation positions needed to be balanced to achieve a natural tropical feeling.
The challenge was also to maintain consistency across a large number of trees. Each artificial palm tree needed to have the same realistic quality while still showing natural variation similar to real palm trees.
Transporting and Installing Large Artificial Palm Trees
The size of the trees created another challenge during transportation and installation.
The largest artificial palm trees in this project reached 10 meters in height with a canopy diameter of 6 meters. Due to the size of the trees, complete tree transportation was not practical. We needed to design a structure that could be safely separated, shipped, and reassembled at the project location.
We developed a modular structure with fiberglass trunks and detachable palm leaves. This design allowed the large artificial palm trees to be transported efficiently while maintaining structural stability after installation.
Before shipment, each component was organized carefully to ensure the installation process could be completed smoothly after arrival in Busan. The modular design also provided flexibility during the final adjustment stage.
Achieving a Natural Appearance Through On-site Installation
For large artificial trees, the final appearance depends on more than factory production. Professional installation and adjustment are important parts of achieving a realistic result.
Although each artificial palm tree was produced according to the project requirements, the final canopy shape needed to be adjusted based on the actual site conditions. The direction of the palm leaves, the density of the canopy, and the overall tree shape all required careful adjustment.
To complete this process, Oakco sent two technicians to Busan and provided two days of on-site installation support. Our team participated in the complete installation process, including unpacking, trunk installation, leaf assembly, and final canopy shaping.
Through professional installation and detailed adjustment, the artificial palm trees achieved a more natural appearance that matched the hospitality space design.

Custom Artificial Palm Tree Design
For this project, Oakco created a customized artificial palm tree solution based on the customer's space requirements and design concept.
Instead of providing standard artificial trees, we adjusted the tree sizes and canopy proportions according to the overall landscape plan. This allowed the 40 palm trees to create a more natural tropical environment with different visual layers.

Material Selection and Structural Design
Material selection was an important part of achieving both realism and durability.
The artificial palm trees combined PE foliage and silk fabric foliage to create a natural appearance. PE foliage provided stable outdoor performance, while silk fabric foliage improved the realistic texture and visual effect of the leaves.
The fiberglass trunk structure provided strong support for the large trees while maintaining a practical design for transportation and installation.
The detachable leaf system also gave our installation team more flexibility. After the trees were assembled, we could adjust the leaf direction and canopy shape according to the actual environment.
On-site Installation Support
Oakco believes that a commercial artificial tree project is not completed when the products leave the factory. The installation stage directly affects the final appearance of the project.
For the Busan project, our team provided direct installation support at the project location. We helped check the components after delivery, install the main structures, assemble the palm leaves, and complete the final visual adjustments.
This complete project support helped ensure that the artificial palm trees achieved the intended tropical landscape effect after installation.
Product Application
The main product used in this project was the artificial palm tree, which became the key visual element of the outdoor hospitality area.

Performance Requirements
Because the project was installed in an outdoor leisure area, the artificial palm trees needed to perform well under outdoor conditions.
The materials were selected with outdoor durability in mind, including UV-resistant requirements to help maintain appearance over time.
Compared with natural plants, artificial palm trees provide a lower-maintenance solution for commercial spaces. They allow hospitality environments to maintain a consistent tropical appearance without regular watering, trimming, or seasonal replacement.
Installation
The installation process started after the artificial palm tree components arrived at the project site in Busan.
Our team first checked all components and prepared the installation sequence. The fiberglass trunks were installed and secured before the palm leaves were assembled.
After the main structures were completed, each palm leaf was positioned and adjusted manually. The final stage focused on canopy shaping, where our technicians adjusted the overall tree form to create a more natural appearance.
Through careful installation and final adjustments, the 40 artificial palm trees were successfully integrated into the outdoor hospitality space.
