01 · Materials
Real bark used in selected custom trees
For some bespoke artificial trees, Oakco uses real bark as part of the trunk finish when it suits the project brief and required appearance.

Review the bark before the tree is made
Bark appearance is not treated as a generic finish. For relevant custom projects, bark samples can be reviewed before production so the client can assess texture, colour and overall direction against the design brief.

02 · Structure
Large artificial trees are built in sections
For large bespoke trees, sectional construction is a practical part of engineering, packing, transport and site installation.

Large trunks, structural sections and canopy components can be divided into manageable modules according to the project. This makes oversized trees practical to manufacture, ship and assemble on site.

03 · Before production

Drawings, samples and finishes are reviewed before scale-up
For bespoke projects, dimensions, structural requirements, foliage direction, colours and finishes can be confirmed through drawings, samples and project discussions before full production. The goal is straightforward: resolve visible issues early rather than remake finished products later.

04 · Packaging & shipping
Packing is planned around the actual tree
Oakco's large artificial trees are not shipped as one generic carton. Trunks, branches and canopy components are packed according to size, structure and installation sequence.



Suitable cartons and protective materials are reused where practical. For large projects, sectional construction also helps us pack components more efficiently and plan container loading around the actual shipment rather than a fixed retail-style package.
05 · Full-tree review
We inspect the tree before it becomes a site problem
For selected large-tree projects, full-tree assembly and dimensional checks can take place in the factory before packing.

Check scale, structure and appearance before shipment
Factory pre-assembly gives the team an opportunity to review proportions, connections, branch placement and overall appearance before the tree is packed for site installation.

06 · Everyday practice
Everyday practices at Oakco
Some sustainability improvements come from practical day-to-day choices in production, packing and how our team travels to work.

Suitable cartons and protective packing materials are reused where practical instead of being discarded immediately after one use.
Separate recoverable offcuts
Metal offcuts from fabrication are separated where practical for recycling or recovery through available local channels.
Encourage lower-carbon travel
Within the team, walking, cycling, public transport and shared commuting are encouraged where practical.
07 · Longer useful life
Think beyond the day of installation
For large commercial artificial trees, sustainability is closely connected to how long a product remains useful. Specification, installation, exposure, cleaning and access to replaceable components all influence that service life.
Match materials and structure to the intended environment.
Use sectional structures where the project benefits from future access.
Assemble the tree in its intended site configuration.

Why does Oakco use real bark on some artificial trees?
