PyroLeaf™ · Inherently fire-retardant foliage

Fire-Resistant Artificial Treesfor Commercial Interiors

Fire-retardant foliage for interior projects that require material documentation, specification support and long-term visual consistency.

PyroLeaf™ integrates fire-retardant additives into the foliage material during production rather than relying on a post-applied surface spray. Available test documentation must be reviewed against the selected material, configuration and destination-market requirement.

How PyroLeaf™ works

Fire-retardant performance integrated into the foliage material.

PyroLeaf™ is Oakco’s inherently fire-retardant foliage option for commercial interiors where decorative greenery may need to support a formal fire-safety review.

01

Material formulation

Fire-retardant additives are integrated during foliage material production.

02

Leaf production

The FR performance is part of the foliage material rather than a later surface coating.

03

Tree specification

Foliage, trunk finish and configuration are reviewed against the project requirement.

04

Document matching

Available reports are matched to the reviewed material and configuration.

Submission support

Material documents can support designer, contractor and buyer review.

Clean finish

No additional post-spray coating is applied to the foliage surface.

No routine re-spraying

No routine surface re-treatment under normal indoor use.

Material demonstration

Same flame. Different responses.

This side-by-side demonstration illustrates why material selection matters. It does not replace third-party testing or approval by the relevant authority.

Non-IFR

Ignites quickly and continues burning under the demonstration condition shown.

PyroLeaf

Chars at the flame-contact point and self-extinguishes under the demonstration condition shown.

Testing & documentation

From tested material to project submission.

A useful fire-safety submission depends on a clear match between the tested specimen, selected foliage and intended tree configuration.

01

Selected material

Confirm the foliage material and intended tree configuration.

02

Applicable method

Review the available test documentation for the selected material.

03

Report review

Check the specimen, report details and destination-project relevance.

04

Submission support

Prepare available information for designer, contractor or buyer review.

Test reports apply to the materials and specimens described in those reports. Final acceptance remains subject to the project specification and relevant local authority.
Specification decision

IFR or CFR? Choose by project requirement.

The main distinction is whether the fire-retardant performance is integrated into the foliage material or applied later as a surface treatment.

Common questions

Fire-resistant artificial trees, answered.

Are PyroLeaf™ artificial trees fireproof?
No. PyroLeaf™ is fire-retardant, not fireproof. Its response depends on the selected material and tested conditions. Final acceptance depends on the applicable report, installation and local authority.
How does foliage become inherently fire retardant?
Fire-retardant additives are integrated into the foliage material during manufacturing rather than applied later as a temporary surface spray.
What is the difference between IFR and CFR?
IFR performance is integrated into the material. CFR is a surface-applied treatment that should be reviewed against project duration, cleaning conditions and documentation requirements.
What fire-test documentation is available?
Available ratings and classifications depend on the selected foliage, applicable test method and destination-market requirement. Oakco can review available documents for the proposed material and configuration.
Does one report cover every custom tree?
No. Reports apply to the materials and specimens described in them. Oakco reviews the applicable documentation against foliage type, tree configuration and project location.
Does PyroLeaf™ need routine surface re-treatment?
Under normal indoor use, PyroLeaf™ does not require routine surface re-spraying because the FR performance is integrated into the foliage material.
Can PyroLeaf™ be used outdoors?
PyroLeaf™ is mainly specified for indoor commercial interiors. For UV exposure, Oakco recommends a project-specific review of HelioLeaf™ or a combined solution.
